How are professionals handling menial jobs on their resume?

I am a construction manager by trade, but was hit hard by the economy. For 2 years, I have taken whatever job pays the bills. If anyone else has been in this same position, how are you addressing these jobs on your resume? Either I have 2 years of terrible positions that are not applicable, or I have a 2 year gap. Help!
