Why did Osama Bin Laden pick one of the most obvious country over there to hide out in?

Of all the other countries over there like Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen.. We would have probably thought about going to those places, but he picks the places that stands out. Dumb.
